Anna’s Final Daily Post

Hi Everyone! This Anna Gabalski reporting to you live from DC for one last time.

Today is our last day in DC, move-out day, and it’s given some time to reflect on the past two weeks. This has been a whirlwind two weeks, and this trip could not have gone any better. We were able to go places, see things, and meet people we could have never figured out on our own, all thanks to our two amazing Professors, Rachel Paine Caufield, and Jill Van Wyke. Many of the people we met shared something in common with us, Drake University, we are all a part of this small community and we are all so proud to be able to call ourselves bulldogs.

That said, here’s a highlight reel from the past two weeks in DC:

And last but not least, the final step count. Drum roll, please…

Steps: 157,771

Miles: 76

Flights of stairs: 104

These steps are a metaphor for how far we’ve come in the past two weeks, with each step we learned something new, met a new person, and opened a door.

I can’t wait to see what the bright future holds for my peers and I. Senate? The House? (the one with the Representatives or the big white one) C-SPAN Bus? Lobbying? Who knows, but all I can be sure of is that we will all go far and will do everything in our power to help our country in any way we can.

Thank you and goodnight.

-Anna G.
