Inauguration Day Mishaps

By Lucas Mueller

Although it may seem like everything was fine and dandy at the 2013 Presidential Inauguration, there were a few things that did not go exactly as planned.

The unmentioned details of the inauguration starts with the fact that a large crowd quickly gathered to view the ceremony at 7:00 AM (before sunrise). Saying that people were pushy would be an understatement. Everyone in the crowd wanted to get as close to the podium as possible and if that meant that they had to stand less than 3 centimeters from the person in front of them, they would do it.

Another unplanned event at the 2013 Presidential Inauguration was the attendance of a protester. Throughout the entire ceremony, the man in the tree was shouting things having. Even though security grabbed ladders to help get the man down, he  climbed even higher to assure he would not be within reaching distance.

These were just four examples that I was able to see while at the 2013 Presidential Inauguration. Security did a great job to make sure that every person at the celebration was safe, which made it an extremely enjoyable day.
