#DrakeinDC

By: Abby Bedore

Throughout the week, our group has been tweeting and promoting this blog with the hashtag #DrakeinDC. Tweets range across a wide array of topics from speakers to the day’s highlights. As we wrap up the first week of the trip, let’s take a look back at some of our tweets.

Academic Seminar and TWC Speakers:

We tweeted notable quotes and what we took away from our Washington Center (and other) speakers. It’s been educational and exciting to hear from some of Washington’s most influential people.

Site Visits Around the City:

From tourist sites to cupcake shops, we shared our experiences–and more importantly, photos–on our Twitter pages.

Networking and Alumni Visits:

We’ve been fortunate to have alumni visits or networking events scheduled for every day this week. It was fun to see how many Drake alumni are in the city and share our experiences about the University. Our alumni have helped us get to know what it’s like to live in D.C. and left us with helpful advice.

Everyone sent out links to our blog posts on both Twitter and Facebook to generate traffic and share posts on other social media platforms.

It’s been fun to hear from everyone tweeting at us. From old Drake friends to new Secret Security friends, we’re happy that our experiences are reaching people across the country.

This hashtag has helped us engage with classmates, professors, friends, family, alumni and the media on Twitter. Thanks to everyone who has tweeted at us, and keep following #DrakeinDC to share our Inauguration Day experiences.
